Plant Training

We supply training and testing on all categories of plant and machinery to industry standards. Whether its an in-house certificate or a CPCS licence, we can provide a training course to get you into work.

The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) card proves that you are competent in operation of the vehicles you use and have health and safety awareness. Most contractors and clients now demand proof of competence before allowing workers onto their sites. As such, not having a CPCS card may affect your ability to work on Major Contractors’ sites. We can provide any plant training at our purpose made facility at Knutsford, Cheshire all delivered by accredited instructors.

DWM Plant Ltd is currently accredited as a training and testing centre for Construction Plant and Machinery by CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme), NPORS, (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) and ITSSAR (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register).

CPCS stands for the Construction Plant Competence Scheme - a card scheme to prove the skills of plant operators. It is based on a combination of professional competence and health and safety awareness - two vital qualities for plant operation. The card is required to be able to operate most categories of plant on MCG (Major Contractors Group) and NCF (National Contractors Federation) sites. Put simply, it is the industry standard for plant operators and is accepted throughout the UK and Europe as a proof of skills card. Most construction sites will not let you operate machinery without being a valid CPCS ticket holder.

After passing your test on your chosen plant machinery, you can upgrade your red card to a full competent blue card but you will need to complete your NVQ. This can be done at work efficiently and at extremely competitive rates.

There is a standard price for the test and registration however as CPCS is a measure of the Operator's competence, the number of days and type of training required to meet the abilities specified by the Scheme can really only be judged on an applicant's performance when assessed on site. We have a range of course lengths to suit every applicant.

All our training/testing is carried out by our own plant team who have wide experience of site construction - making our practical knowledge in this field second to none. Our instructors' ability to pass on their knowledge provides a unique training background - no matter your own skill level.
